inBusiness Services, developer of 360 View, was founded by Kevin Anderson, Terry Bellenfant, and Chris Green. The “Three Dads”, as they are
now affectionately referred to around the office, held their first meeting in early February of 2001 in a non-descript Brentwood office building.
Kevin and Terry had known one another for many years; they had even been partners in a previous venture founding and growing a bank data-processing
company that eventually processed for over 30 community banks. Chris, at the time, was still fresh from graduate school and helping local-area
businesses and start-ups with strategy and marketing development. They were an un-likely pairing – Terry a tall Vanderbilt University Alum bookended
by two smaller stature guys, one a Tennessee Vols fan and on the other a Vandy-Wannabe.
After a brief meeting of minds and much scribbling of ideas on that fateful day in February, the three new partners left their borrowed Brentwood
conference room with the seed of an idea, an idea they would quickly plant into the heart of the financial institution community. An idea that would
grow beyond their wildest first drawings…an idea that would dig roots deep in Tennessee and grow vines long enough to reach across the United States...
an idea that would become the heart of 360 View.
In early 2002, the “Three Dads”, realizing that their seed had germinated, hired Suzanne Johnson, a kind and very talented software programmer, to
help them tend and grow their newly sprouted venture. Suzanne wrote the first code for what would become 360 View DDA Overdraft Manager quickly followed
by 360 View Loan Extension Account Processing (LEAP) Manager. With the successful introduction of both to market, Suzanne, now VP of the newly formed
Software Solutions Division, brought on another talented young programmer named Matt Tapia. With Matt’s programming talents now added to the team, code
production began for 360 View Loan Past Due Manager, inBusiness’ third software solution.
It was then that our little group was presented with a proposition. An existing client asked, "Can you help us in our search for a good CRM solution?"
The "Three Dads" found CRM solutions developed for businesses being marketed to financial institutions, which is kind of like forcing a square peg into
a round hole, and at prices not affordable to the average community financial institution. But they did not find a good solution that fit all their client’s
needs. Then putting their collective heads together, a new idea sprouted! "What if we build a CRM for you?" they asked. After more research and development
meetings discussing project scope, development on a CRM solution began in late 2002. Other financial institutions were recruited to participate in the
process to ensure the new creation would meet a diverse group of user’s needs, and monthly meetings, where all could openly explore everything a good CRM
should do, were held, and line by line the code was written to build the best little CRM solution for financial institutions the earth had ever seen.
The end... good night.
Wait... there’s more.
Once the little-solution-that-could made it to market and community financial institutions began using it to better mange their daily operations, the
"Three Dads" realized, from the many client thank-yous, that they had happened on a truly special piece of software; something very powerful but easy to
use; a tool that could change the lives of everyone working in community banks and credit unions for the better. A tool that could deliver, for perhaps the
first time, a true view of a customer's relationship and value to a financial institution at a moment’s click.
But no one was sure what to call the new creation. The "Three Dads" knew the acronym CRM was widely misunderstood and wanted the new name to reflect the
tool's designed purpose and potential power to any organization. Then, towards the end of 2003, they finally found their inspiration for a name in a comment
made by one of the system’s new users. "We love the software, especially the three sixty degree view of our customer," he said. Thanks, Sam. And the
little-solution-that-could had found its name -- 360 View.
From 2004 to present, the company, founded by the "Three Dads", has grown like kudzu unleashed as news of 360 View has spread from community to community.
New and innovative programmers, incentive gurus, pleasant project managers, installation specialists, happy and helpful support persons, project strategists,
profitability architects, and marketing designers extraordinaire have all been added to the team whose offices are located overlooking the Cumberland River
near downtown Nashville, TN. When you hear the team is in a meeting…they are really watching river barges go to and fro and pondering over the many adventures
of Tom and Huck.
In April of 2007, 360 View was recognized by the ICBA (Independent Community Bankers of America) as a Preferred Service Provider…a big deal and a smart way of
saying, the ICBA really likes 360 View.
In February of 2009, the many talented folks at inBusiness Services released their biggest venture yet, 360 View Premier Profitability. This customer
profitability module provides customer and account level profitability so 360 View users can better identify their top customers and understand their customer
trends. It’s everything you ever wanted in a profitability module and utilizes Funds Transfer Pricing, Loss Provisions, and simple Cost Allocations while
providing complete calculation transparency, month-to-date profitability statements, 24-month trends, and net-profit information you can use to better build
your next customer retention campaign.
The company, founded by the "Three Dads" and grown by the many imaginative people who work at inBusiness Services, the developer of 360 View, now serves more
than 100 financial institutions in 35 states. Their mission is simple -- "Develop, Deliver, and Support the best relationship management software for financial
institutions on planet Earth."
Still behind it all, is the promise to be true to their word, value handshakes more than contracts, and to be friends and confidants to their partner
institutions, while growing an extended family as well as a business.
